Why MPA LLC created and will maintain this website - POVERTY & RACISM, A must view and read

On April 18, 2008, Mary Glass, Chair/CEO/CVO, Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC posted an article on Newsvine called:

An Exposé - Hog Wild Institutional Racism in Milwaukee by Elected Officials

Two societies, one black, one white --separate and unequal" in Milwaukee.

In 2008, Bill Moyer talked to ex-Senator Fred Harris, OK, the lone surviving member of the Kerner Commission, about specifics of the Kerner Report and Milwaukee was one of the cities he cited.

FRED HARRIS: That's right. And I remember one-- we went for example, we went to-- Milwaukee. And I spent a good portion of that day in a black barbershop. We found Milwaukee as segregated really, maybe more so, then southern cities. I kept saying to people -- "Do you run into much discrimination here in Milwaukee?" And people didn't know quite how to answer it. It turned out the reason was, that they didn't see any white people. That's how segregated Milwaukee was.

And we found there people, of course, and this was true all over. Black people had come up there looking for jobs.

The BEAT GOES ON.
=================

FRED HARRIS: We used the word racism. And on the commission, we had two or three people say, "Should we use that word, racism?"

BILL MOYERS: Not a word that was thrown around largely by-- government panels in the 1960s.

FRED HARRIS: We felt that was very important. I did and I think it was to say it. Because what we know is that oppressed people often come to believe about themselves the same bad stereotypes that the dominant society has. Our saying racism-- I think was very important to a lot of black people who said, "Well, maybe it's not just me. Maybe I'm not-- by myself at fault here. Maybe there's something else going on."

BILL MOYERS: I remember that the headlines based on the premature leak of a summary of the report would read-"A Commission Blames Riots on Whites."

FRED HARRIS: That's right.
BILL MOYERS: White racism. And that inflamed-- whites who didn't want to be blamed.

Take the time, read the transcript and listen to what has and is the ROOT of why CORE CONSTITUENTS can not allow this mega opportunity go pass WITHOUT the pubic (We the People) bringing assets to the table and DEMANDING that we receive new millennial MARKET RATE benefits with specificity to change and IMPACT disparities that are stifling.
NO MORE Bait-N-Switch.

NO MORE taking from the POOR and giving to the haves.  They must earn our TRUST and they must come with DUE DILIGENCE at the core value of the Arena and Park East development.  They need to read this report and the DWilson report to get a grasp of what we are prepared to negotiate.  PERIOD.

This report speaks to the TRUTH.  This video talks of conditions that are NOW - reported in 2008 about the 1967 Kerner Commission.  It sounds like and is an assessment of NOW.

It is important that the People contact all elected officials and voice NO DEAL without specifics of benefits to the People and those benefits must have "legs" that grow 20-30 years in commitments to the plan.

The developers are thinking "ME-ME" with our resources.
